Dating Cartridge Boxes 1920 to 1960

 

This is a personal research project to find correct ammo boxes for this Colt collection pre-WW2.

Using early dated magazines, the ads allow for identification of some of the boxes in use for the date.  Other examples are drawn from articles about a given company online.

This is a work in progress.  It is not the final word on anything related to boxes.  Do not use this information to make a decision.  Do your own research.  The online date information is all over the map, so be cautious about 'facts' as they vary from article to article and author to author.

The only objective here is to pair up consistent boxes with the revolvers in this collection 1920 to 1960 by the front of the box.  Period ads were used to date various types of boxes.
